Masonry Testing/Forensic Analysis of Conditions
We possess more than 15 years of experience with the diagnosis and treatment of
problematic conditions for historic masonry and other building materials. Having the
opportunity to be involved in the earliest stages of pre-construction design development
can lead to fewer unknowns regarding product selection, fewer problems during
construction, lower potential for construction delays and, most importantly, a better
restoration.
Our pre-construction testing surfaces include:
- Coordination/installation of forensic probes
- Treatment testing programs, including those for cleaning, stain removal,
desalination, composite repair, coatings, mortar
- Moisture mapping and monitoring
- Thermohygrographic monitoring
We have worked on a variety of projects ranging from small residences to large religious
buildings and state capitols. As such, we believe that our ability to identify solutions to
complex problems for all types of building owners is unmatched. Furthermore, having
direct experience with the construction trades, academic research, laboratory analysis and
design consulting makes our ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of
individuals who are typically involved in a restoration project unique.
Keystone has successfully consulted on restoration programs for all types of historic
masonry:
- Granite
- Marble
- Limestone
- Sandstone
- Terra cotta
- Brick
- Stucco
