Markers and Monuments

We provide planning documents and specialized conservation services for historic cemeteries, statues and monuments.

Our experience includes surveys and recommendations for cemeteries which range in size from 150-2,000 markers. Services typically include inspection of each marker, during which pertinent information such as marker type, material, overall condition and dimensions are logged.  Information is entered into a customizable Access-based database which records specific conditions information (cracking, damage, tilt, etc.), and provides for the creation of a specific treatment program for each marker.  The database can be used to document conditions over time, or before and after treatment.  It can also be used to record information such as genealogy, inscriptions, and treatment history.

Keystone also provides specialized conservation contracting services for small-scale projects.  Work which can be completed either in the conservation studio or on-site includes stabilization, pinning, re-setting, composite repair and cleaning.
